Be a Belly-rina! Ballet for Belly Dancers
Presence. Poise. Grace.
Discover how the elegance and refinement of Ballet and theatrical training can elevate your belly dance performance skills.
New to Ballet? That is ok! In this class, we’ll explore Ballet technique through a Belly Dance lens—adapting movement quality to support and enhance our style. Together, we’ll work on fluidity, footwork, classical arms, technique for turns, and the confidence it takes to command the stage.
We’ll also explore foundational theatrical concepts and universal terminology that all performers need to know.
If you stepped away from Western dance forms in search of more freedom through Belly Dance, this is your chance to revisit Ballet and theatre on your own terms—reshaping this style to serve your artistry.

Rhythm fundamentals with Finger Cymbals
The way for a dancer to really solidify their knowledge and memory of Middle Eastern rhythms is to be able to play them. Take the beat out of the ether and into your sagat! This workshop can be adjusted to the organizer's need for time length and will teach Arabic rhythms useful for bellydancers, starting with the most used and continuing through those used in folkloric dance. Dancers will not only be able to play them but identify them within music and walk away with a solid and applicable skill set and notes and tips on musicality. Participants should come with their own finger cymbals already strung, fit, and ready to play.
